On Monday night January 31, over 90 of our mentors tuned into Part 1 of this year's Coaching Forum (Part 2 will take place in person later in Spring) with Performance Coach and Sports Therapist Paul Oppermann, supported by our Friends of Na Fianna ExpressCare by Affidea,
Himself an athlete and Olympian, Paul has worked as speed coach to some of the country's top athletes and teams, including both men and women's Dublin senior football teams. Coaching the mechanics of movement and developing overall functional strength are elements that Paul believes are critical to injury prevention as well as achieving health and performance goals, and he gave some brilliant practical ways to make these technical movements a fun part of training sessions.
Many thanks to Paul and the Coaching Committee for the informative and enjoyable session. A recording of the forum is available: please contact pro@clgnafianna.ie if you'd like a copy. Do also check out Na Fianna's YouTube Channel which has lots of brilliant short videos developed by the club in recent years to help with practical activity ideas.
