While we await the latest GAA Covid-19 update, we are aware of media speculation regarding the possible re-opening of club grounds. Members should note that as Na Fianna does not have a dedicated walking track, ALL Na Fianna playing facilities will, at this point in time, continue to remain closed until 20th July. Any change or revision will be advised as soon as available.
While the Club would love to be in a position to re-open the grounds for the use of members and local community, we must, in the best interests of all, continue to adhere to the instructions of the relevant authorities.
Members may however be interested to learn of the trojan work that our Facilities Group have been undertaking in maintaining club grounds over the last number of weeks.
Mobhi Road Front Pitch
- Re-seeding, fertilising and aeration of main pitch on Mobhi Road
- Installation of repurposed fencing on Home Farm end of Mobhi Road pitch
- Clearing of areas around front gate and roadside fencing
All-Weathers @ Mobhi Road
- Reconstruction of small all –weather
- Relaying of rubber crumb on large all-weather
- Repair to John Deere machinery for all-weather maintenance
- Installation of PA system for all-weather
Scoil Chaitríona Pitch
- Fertilising and aeration completed
- Rotovating of goal mouth, spreading of topsoil and reseeding of goal area and other damaged areas in Scoil Chaitriona pitch
- Installation of permanent water supply from club well for pitch watering / sprinkling
- Undergrowth clearing on bank to accommodate new natural sheltered spectating area
- Repair of fencing to Griffith Park
St Vincents CBS Pitch
- Fertilising completed
- Sinking of flag post holders for main pitch to improve pitch markings
- Repair of fencing
Collinstown Pitches
- Fertilising completed
- Sinking of flag post holders on Pitch 3
- Removal and clearing of significant debris behind goal on pitch 1
- Commencement of railing painting
- Sourcing and Refitting of grass cutting tractor tyres to improve ground maintenance standards
- Mechanical repair of John Deere grass machinery
